Celebrexib contains a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which is used to manage osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins which helps in pain and inflammation.

Celebrexib is available in tablet, capsule and suspension form.

Celebrexib belongs to this class of medications, it is prescribed for the treatment of pain, inflammation and pain in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.

It also shows effectiveness in cancer pain and it works by blocking the cancer cells that are made more active in pain that respond to treatment. It also works by decreasing the risk of surgery-induced nerve pain, pain that is still occurring in initial operation.

Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of rofecoxib and placebo in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients who have undergone radical osteotomy to determine the efficacy and safety of rofecoxib and placebo in the treatment of non-rheumatoid arthritis (NRA).

Methods:In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group, clinical trials of patients treated with rofecoxib (CAS number: 0007-11-3, Study ID: 6-0-01) or placebo for six months with an oral cyclosporine, a weakly bound protein, and an active component (e.g., celecoxib), the investigators were blinded to the treatment group. The study included 795 patients with NRA and 654 patients with RA treated with an oral cyclosporine in a single study.

Results:Patients who received rofecoxib and placebo were significantly more likely to have an adverse event than patients treated with either agent for six months (17% versus 6%, respectively; hazard ratio [HR] 2.8, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.7 to 8.4, P < 0.001). The relative risk of NRA was 0.7 [95% CI 0.3 to 1.6] for patients treated with rofecoxib compared to patients treated with placebo.

Conclusion:Patients treated with rofecoxib and placebo had similar rates of NRA compared to patients treated with placebo.

Oral Celecoxib, rofecoxib and placebo

Background:

Rofecoxib (Celebrex) is a widely used oral treatment for chronic inflammatory diseases (CIDD) including rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The objective of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of rofecoxib and placebo in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Methodology:Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group, randomized controlled trials of patients treated with rofecoxib (CAS number: 0007-11-3, Study ID: 6-0-01) and placebo for six months with an oral cyclosporine, a weakly bound protein, and an active component (e.g., celecoxib) in a single study. Outpatient clinical practice with over 3000 patients treated with rifampin, the primary treatment for RA, in the United Kingdom. In addition, patients treated with rofecoxib and placebo had a composite primary care indication.

Patients who received rofecoxib and placebo were significantly more likely to have an adverse event than patients treated with either agent for six months (17% versus 6%, respectively; HR 0.8, 95% CI 0.4 to 1.2, P < 0.001).

Rofecoxib, rofecoxib and placebo

In this multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, patients treated with rofecoxib and placebo had similar rates of NRA compared to patients treated with placebo.

Rosuvoxib, rofecoxib and placebo

Rofecoxib is a widely used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of rofecoxib and placebo in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients who have undergone surgery.

Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group, randomized controlled trials of patients treated with rofecoxib and placebo for six months with an oral cyclosporine, a weakly bound protein, and an active component (e.g., celecoxib) in a single study.
